The second biggest city in Brazil and one of the largest cities across South America, that is how to describe Rio de Janeiro when it comes to size. However, describing it as a city will be far more creative and detailed than that. The city itself is eager to please the people who set foot in the grandiose city of Brazil. There are museums, historical sites and pristine beaches that travelers can enjoy. Many visitors come in the city to take pleasure in the lights and colors that are present in every inch. Though it is no longer the capital of Brazil since 1960 (the capital was moved to Sao Paulo) the city never lost its illustrious reputation when it comes to nightlife.

The city is known for its open mind when it comes to gender, Rio never closed it doors to people and diversity. Even in music, a place that is the birthplace of Bossa Nova and the very distinct Funk Carioca can heard all around. Botequins or neighbourhood bars are all the rage in Rio, you can enjoy the greatest drinks and sumptuous food in this hole in the wall. Tourists don’t have to worry about what they are doing because the Lord with His huge statue is looking down on them.
