One of Rio's most beloved little restaurants, Bar Luiz has been around since 1887. Originally called Bar Adolf (after the owner), it moved to its current location on the Rua da Carioca in 1927. The bar was a popular hangout for intellectuals and politicians who loved to discuss the political scenario and discuss business over a glass of drink

The bar has an adorable setting. The long room is simply furnished with wooden tables, chairs and an elegant tile floor. The walls are adorned with old photographs of Rio which makes you nostalgic about the good old days. The menu too is much the same. The specialties of the place are sausage and sauerkraut, Wiener schnitzel, Kassler ham, and potato salad.
